Before You Start

Please read this before you start using the device! Following these steps will allow you to use the device more securely.

No AutoMDIX Support

The Ethernet module on the device does not support the AutoMDIX feature. Therefore, a straight-through cable should be used to connect to other switches or routers; a crossover Ethernet cable should be used to connect to devices such as servers and workstations or other Ethernet modules that do not support the AutoMDIX feature. Both types of cables can be used to connect to devices with the AutoMDIX feature enabled.
