Before You Start

Please read this section before using the device. Following these steps will help you operate the device more securely. Detailed configuration instructions are explained in the rest of this documentation.

User Password

When you log in to the device for the first time, you must change the default user password.

Firewall Rules

Under Firewall > Traffic Rules, configure the device so that only permitted IP addresses can access it. Block ping requests and all other traffic from unauthorized IP addresses.

For example, allow TCP, UDP, and ICMP requests coming to the device via the WAN interface only from a specific IP address you trust, and deny all requests from other IP addresses.

Corporate APN Usage

If you leave a device with a static IP accessible over a standard (public) APN, you must implement proper security measures. Otherwise, the device may become vulnerable to external attacks.

Using a Corporate APN not only enhances security but also simplifies system management. It is strongly recommended for corporate environments and critical infrastructures.

If budget or infrastructure constraints prevent the use of a Corporate APN, you should at least enable the device’s built-in Firewall feature to provide a basic level of protection. However, for comprehensive security—especially in critical facilities such as factories, drinking water plants, and wastewater treatment plants—the use of a Corporate APN is highly recommended.
